second draft home stretch

I hit an arbitrary but exciting milestone in my second draft at long last. There are only 90 pages left to edit, re-write, add to, WHATEVER there are only 90 of them okay?! Today, I made it to page 266 of the 356 total pages. You know what that means?!

266 pages are DONE! They don't have weird plot holes (hopefully) or no explanation for why Luna wanders at night in the woods alone (maybe more on this). Those pages have been carefully torn apart, erased, re-written, added to and edited. And there's only 90 left before this first second draft is DUNZO.

That's really all I have to share. No tips or insight, just a not so subtle JUBILATION at being this close to done with this draft and onto the next. It's a milestone, for me, since I wanted to get to under a hundred pages and it happened and we have to celebrate all the milestones along the way.

While there are lots of ups and downs, like anything, I'm still enjoying every bit of it. More so than when I started. And, I'm really excited to keep adding to Luna's journey, and hopefully share more about her soon, too.

Now, time for a celebratory sweet treat.
