As I said, it all started with an umbrella and Mary Poppins. An umbrella was easier to procure than a bag of pixie dust. The candy wouldn't do for such an event.
I stood on the two feet high stone wall separating our yard from the neighbors with my sister, each of us holding tiny umbrellas and armed with the belief that we could fly. If only we believed. And, oh did we believe.
When we jumped, we imagined we hovered a little longer than we would have. If not for the magical umbrella and the strong belief that we could fly.
And, that, my dear readers is how I learned to fly. If you keep reading past your dwindling attention span scroll, you can learn how too.

Most tragically, this is not my flying origin story. But it probably is the origin story of why I'm a writer. Because rules of physics and gravity are totally ruining that whole flying thing.
Sure, it's MTV's real world and we're just stuck watching it, but when you write your own books, you get to make up your own rules. Did you know this?
It's pretty awesome.
What's your writing origin story? Think about it and let me know.
