In my it's 25 degrees but the sun is shining let's go outside and look at birds era...
Which is January.
While I'm letting the newly finished manuscript for NIGHT SOIREE sit (so I don't scare it with edits right away, I guess?), I'm reading a lot, listening to the same songs over and over and tinkering with THE PROTECTRESS ending to wrap everything neatly up instead of ending on a cliffhanger. Apparently, I can't force an Agent or Publisher to buy two books because of said cliffhanger.
Anyway, I'm also working on a new Beatrix Bobbit story to catch up with the Bobbit family after their holiday spent at a haunted castle.
Also, I'm in the market for a mannequin. Things I never thought I'd say, but here we are. If anyone has tips on finding a mannequin in your exact size please share your secrets. As is, I'm hoping someone at Joann's will have just the thing. I'm ready to branch out from pillows and hems to making actual garmets.
Here's a list of a few of my favorite things at the moment, in no real order.
Currently reading: A SEA OF UNSPOKEN THINGS by Adrienne Young, rereading SORCERY OF THORNS by Margaret Rogerson. And, just finished WELLNESS by Nathan Hill for my book club.
Listening to on repeat: LOST IN A MIDNIGHT by Moody Joody and RED WHITE AND BLUE by Remi Bond
Shopping for: Slip dresses from Monah Li and pretty fabrics
Would love to hear how you're passing these wintery January days?!
